{The “S” Family Grandkids} Little Pals Photography

I was recently contacted by a member of the “S” Family looking for a last minute shoot. They were on a tight schedule and we only had a small window of time when they all would be together in town for a Surprise Birthday Party…….. SURE HOPE the surprise party went well! I will have to say it was the first time a client ever brought their own Dslr camera to a shoot …….( btw Thanks for letting me borrow your wide angle lens because now I want to trade my current wide angle in for one like yours! ) Here are a few of the images we captured from our short session. Such a great looking group of kids! OOPS excuse the Senior watermark on the kid pic…….  grabbed the wrong watermark action……

{Baby H} Little Pals Photography | Sterling IL

I got the pleasure of photographying this beautiful family once again.

Hard to believe its been almost 3 years since they were here last….

The little boy in the pics will turn 3 in October and one of his newborn pics still has a special place in my heart and on my business cards :) He was one of my best ever sleepers at a newborn session.  I believe he slept thru the whole process and made my job so easy.  Mom tells me that was the last time he slept that well for almost 2 years!  Guess I got REALLY lucky!

Big Sister has grown into a pretty young girl and was my special assistant when I needed her.

This time they welcomed home a new baby girl.  She was just the sweetest thing ever.  And just like her brother she slept great and when she was awake barely made a peep.

{Little Dancer} Little Pals Photography – Sterling IL

Well it is that time of year again! Dance recitals…….. every young girls dream to be on the stage coming true.

This year happens to be the first time my little one will be following in her older sister’s footsteps and performing on stage.

I am certain there will be tears in my eyes as I see my youngest on stage just as there was for my oldest daughter each and every time she performed. It never gets old. And you never can check those emotions at the door. There is something so special and touching about seeing your children showing off their independence, confidence and lets not forget those adorable little costumes!

Speaking of costumes….. we picked her very first dance recital costume this past week. So of course being a mom with all her own studio equipment I had to take the opportunity to get some pictures for the memory book! Here is some we captured today. Isn’t she the most adorable thing ever? Well yes I am a bit biased because she is mine, but I am ok with that! :)

Thought I would share a few pics from this session. We had to do the outdoor portion quickly due to losing the sun.
I think my outdoor sessions will be few and far between until spring unless we get some unseasonably warmer weather.

Hard to believe how time flies! My little Princess will be 3 years old next weekend.

Today we had fun playing in the studio.

I picked up this cute little dress at a craft show last weekend. I only wish a full view shot of the dress was worthy to show you……. but as with most 3years olds……. holding still is very rare and any time they stand the twirl and move…..

{Foggy Sunset} Sterling IL Photographer

Tonight was a foggy sunset and it was neat to see……… unfortunately I could not grab pics of it until it was almost done.

{My Princess} Sterling IL Photographer ~ Little Pals Photography

Today my princess and I had some play time in the studio. She loves to try on all the pretty skirts I have for props and actually had a good time! I think this was the first studio session I had with her that didnt end in tears!

Let me tell you as all parents know……….. getting your own child to do anything when you want them to is next to impossible. For some reason other peoples children always listen better.
And as all photographers know……………. your toughest subjects are your own kids!

So today was a joy and I hope next time we can experiment with more backgrounds. Here are just a few from today’s play session.

Thought I would share a few pics of my sweet little 2-1/2 year old. Seriously the toughest people to photograph are your own children. They tend to run screaming away from you when the camera is in your hand. I have to bribe her with M&M’s now to get her to sit for me! lol
